Who can enter the Kingdom of God
Posted in religion, Social Commentary by mathialee on June 3, 2010
Jesus said (Luke 18 : 24, 25)
“How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God! Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.”
Going by the number of millionaire pastors/evangelists & ex-communicated LGBT folk these days, it seems more accurate to say
“How hard it is for the queer to enter the Kingdom of God!”

I suppose i was looking at the Sg context. Apparently the Free Community Church, Singapore’s only gay affirmative church, had to be registered as a business because the church community refuses to recognise it as a legitimate church
I had no idea that the church community had to approve when one registers as a church. I thought it was only up to the government to approve. I wonder how they even gauge whether the ‘church community’ approves.
am not too sure myself (anyone can enlighten???)
Not sure if the Natl’ Council of Churches or some regulatory body has to approve?
I’m sure there is right? That prevents groups like the Jehovah Witnesses or Mormons from being registered as a church here??
Could also be a non-formal disapproval thing?
eg. the established powerful churches/leaders lobby the govt not to grant Church status or something?
Certainly enjoyed reading that blog post that you linked to. To me, it’s more evidence that Christianity is more culturally influenced than scripturally influenced.
I love this FB group Gwee Li Sui set up
For people who believe in human responsibility:
The Devil has been framed and maligned

Description:
Look, we don’t like the Devil either, but will people stop pinning all kinds of misdeeds committed by human individuals on him? It’s already looking quite embarrassing, like we don’t have free will or are incapable of doing wrong. Learn to own up and be responsible for once!
There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them. ~ C. S. Lewis
